Greetings From The Land of Kangaroos, Koalas and Kookaburras!! …

After graduating from high school I worked at the Guilford Woolen Mill as a 1st class weaver and then spent three years in the US Army, honorably discharged with the rank of Specialist E5. Came back to Maine and had various jobs around Dover – Foxcroft until I moved to Danbury, Connecticut while attending Western Connecticut State College where I graduated with a four year Bachelor of Science Degree. The New South Wales Education Department were recruiting teachers to work in Australia at the time so I applied for a visa and now Australia is my home. I married an Australian girl, Dianne, and have a step daughter, Belinda, and three grandchildren. While teaching school for 22 years I got interested in computers (Macs & PC’s) and taught computer awareness classes at the Bondi Evening College for 8 years after school and on the weekends, started my own multi-media computer company and developed two CD-roms on Australia and on the Western Plains Zoo which paid off the mortgage on our North Shore home. Needing a career change, I retired from teaching and got involved in Real Estate and worked in the industry for 17 years selling homes on the leafy, picturesque North Shore of Sydney. While semi-retired, I worked part time training office staff for our new Century 21 franchise in Darling Point. Now retired, we moved to The Gold Coast in Queensland and then I released my own Australian website (Bob Libby Photography) and have done a fair bit of blogging. Between my family, photography and travel my life is full and happy. I get back to Maine every 3 or 4 years to see family and friends, take photos of Maine wildlife and relax on the golf courses etc. Always in the summer, the cold Maine winters are one of the many reasons I made beautiful Sydney, and now the Gold Coast, in Queensland, Australia my home.
